A strong control orientation. Individual still feels compulsive but fights addiction. Strong fear of letting go. Must constantly be on his guard. Person shames himself because of compulsivity. Swears he won't act out again. Person tries to hold in his impulse to act out. A sense of unworthiness, of being "no good." Feelings of hopelessness, and lowered self-esteem.
